How the Rank Is Calculated
UP DElEd 2026 does not use a separate written entrance examination. Merit is prepared from the academic percentages entered by candidates for High School (Class 10), Intermediate (Class 12), and Graduation. Under the official guidelines, the percentage marks from these three examinations are added together (rounded to two decimal places) to calculate the candidate’s merit score. The resulting merit order is then used to determine State Rank – candidates with a higher combined percentage are placed higher on the list.

If two candidates in the same category have an equal merit score, the older candidate receives preference. If both the merit score and age are equal, the tie is resolved according to the candidates’ names in English alphabetical order.
