Current Status of UP Home Guard PET 2026
The written exam for UP Home Guard Recruitment 2025-26 was held on 25, 26 and 27 April 2026, and the result was declared on 28 June 2026. Document Verification and the Physical Standard Test (DV/PST) ran from 13 July to 7 August 2026 across district centres.
UPPRPB issued the official Physical Efficiency Test (PET) procedure notice on 14 August 2026. It confirms that candidates successful district-wise in DV/PST will proceed to PET. However, the Board has not yet announced the PET date/time or released the PET admit card.
Candidates who clear the height, chest and weight standards in the PST are the ones who go on to attempt the PET. This page will be updated as soon as UPPRPB announces the official PET schedule.

The PET is qualifying in nature – no marks are awarded for completing the run faster. Candidates who participate in the PET but fail to complete the required run within the prescribed time are not given a second attempt.

Candidates who are not satisfied with their physical measurement can raise an objection on the same day, and a Nodal Officer conducts a re-measurement in the candidate’s presence.
How to Prepare for the PET
- Start running practice at least 2-3 months before the expected PET date
- Build up distance gradually rather than attempting the full 4.8 km or 2.4 km on day one
- Practice on a track or open ground similar to the exam-day surface
- Get adequate rest and stay hydrated in the days leading up to the test
- Keep the DV/PST admit card, height/chest details and original documents ready, since PET usually follows soon after PST clearance
